Our New House!!

Okay, I know, I'm horrible. I've been getting hate mail, my mom's been getting hate mail...so I'm going to appease the masses with some quick pics of the new house and some fun pool pics of Jackson before I jet off to yet another photography project (this one lasting 2 full weeks!)

We closed on this new home on April 18th! And that night, I had a rehearsal to shoot, along with a wedding the next day. So, there was no time to even THINK about moving anything into this house! My amazing hubby did it all! He hired the movers, helped them pack up the trucks, unloaded it all, and put the boxes exactly where they were supposed go. On Sunday, we spent the day unloading boxes--one by one. From there, we put the bedroom furniture together, organized the furniture in the living room, hung some pictures, etc. Our house is completely put together now, although not decorated to my taste just yet. On Tuesday, Adam and I spent the day hunting down countertop places--we have blue formica countertops, and while they are durable and sufficient, I just think they look hideous! And although we thought we would wait about 6 months and save some extra cash to replenish the savings after closing, we can't stand to look at them any more!! We are hoping to have the kitchen re-facing done by Jackson's 2nd birthday! New countertops (Avanza) new painted cabinets, and a tumbled marble backsplash! That's the plan. We'll see how long it takes to accomplish...

2695 sq ft
4 Bedrooms, all up
2.5 baths
Gameroom
Formal dining and living
Family room
Fabulous backyard!!

The curtains and light fixture will have to go someday, and painted Timeless Taupe....

Our yellow striped bathroom that will soon be Caraway green with new hardware...

The blue tile will be replaced with tumbled marble when the kitchen is being done...
Along with the curtains being dyed chocolate...

I LOVE my new kitchen desk! And, my Pottery Barn Daily System knock off ROCKS!

We finally have a play room!! Somewhere for all the toys! I have BIG plans for this room....

The train that Aunt Rickie got Jackson for Christmas--we finally have a place for it!
It's 5 x 4...
I LOVE our backyard! We asked for the swing set and they left it! We just have to sand it and stain it to make it look new again...Jackson LOVED climbing and sliding (yes, he climbs the ladder...)

Jackson bathroom was the first room to be decorated. We haven't painted yet, it was already this awesome color. I found the accents and HAD to have them...so cute!

Jackson's furniture looked so big in the other house. This room is much larger, and I have to come up with some extra stuff to fill it up...He likes it though, and we've had no problems with him sleeping through the night in his own room!

I love my large laundry room! They left us extra tile, so we'll be tiling it someday and painting...it's last on the list though, obviously!

I enjoy this switch plate...

One of the spare rooms that will be a nursery someday...

Our room is this amazing calming blue! I love it! I just can't find the right bedding for in there yet. I found this stripe at BB&B, similar to one I found at PB, so I got it. It's super comfy!
And it sorta matches...
And again, this room swallows our furniture. Adam just couldn't understand why I felt clausterphobic in the other house....

All the bathroom fixtures were replaced before they put it on the market, along with new carpet and the hardwoods being refinished, and new paint. The people before us too GREAT care of this 10 year old house!

I had met the past owners at our inspection, and then we saw them again at closing. Funny, they bought this house when their oldest was almost 2 (like Jackson), and this was their 2nd home as well! Tricia (the wife) had put together this super cute welcome package and letter for Jackson! Bubbles, cars, a football, a bucket...so cute! She was a super organized person and the neighbors all loved her! In fact, they have been back over to the house! Their kids still catch the bus in the morning, and I think they are really close to the people across the street, so we've seen them alot! They came in and it was weird for them seeing their house with other furniture and stuff! Their little boy said "it look so different." This was the only house they had ever known, so I'm sure it was hard. But, they are GREAT people and I look forward to seeing them at the block parties!

So far, we LOVE everything about the house! We have GREAT neighbors--TONS of boys that are around Jackson's age! Samuel and Benjamin are the boys next door and they are always outside playing, so Jack Jack will have lots of fun with them. We have babysitters all over too! It's a super social street! Once things slow down on my end, and I have some space on my computer and space on my camera cards, I'll get more pictures of Jackson....he is growing like a weed! And TALK TALK TALKING up a storm! He repeats EVERYTHING you say. He loves to follow Daddin and Papa around. He is in the 2 year old class now at MOPS and likes playing with the older kids. He's not my baby anymore.....he's almost 2 going on 8. So fast.....
