Jackson's Blessing--2 years 9 months

We could have a future priest on our hands! Jackson INSISTS that we pray at EVERY meal--even at McDonald's. He LOVES to pray! And, everyone HAS to be seated before we start. Although, he is not very natural in this video b/c apparently these days he doesn't like to sit and be posed! Oh well...you'll get the gist!

Rollin'

Last week, Memaw had a project. A pretty big one. I had a TON of work to do, so she and Pawpaw came over and picked up Jackson to go to Home Depot (his favorite store!) While they were there picking up paint supplies, they bought Jackson his own little roller. Little did Memaw know that Jackson would really USE this roller to complete nearly her entire project!!

Basically, they needed to prime some furniture--furniture that was my sister's growing up. Taking it from brown to white. Well, from what I hear, Jackson is an excellent roller. So much so, that Mom let him paint the ENTIRE headboard AND the dresser with primer. And he didn't get a drop of paint on himself or his clothes!

He loved EVERY MINUTE of it! And has not stopped talking about it since!! mom got a few pictures of him in action--but I guess that his commentary was much better. We are going to have to get them a video camera to be able to get those funny shots on film!!

Baby Butt Crack!
But seriously, check out the headboard--he painted every inch of that thing! So good!

"We doin' a spearment"

Last week, I told Jackson I would take him to the park--simply to get out of this sick house! He proceeded to run to the fridge and pull out 3 popsicles--one for me, one for gg, and one for memaw. He put them in his Thomas backpack. I found them about 5 minutes later--still pretty frozen, but a little squishy.

M: "Honey, you can't put these in your backpack. They will melt!"
J: "They not melted!"
M: "Do you know what it means to "melt"?
J: look of confusion
M: "You know, like ice, when it melts into water?"
J: "I eat ice!"
M: look of frustration
M: "Let's do an experiment!"

So, I grabbed a glass and put a popcicle in to, top down. I told Jackson, "We're going to sit here and watch this popsicle melt. It's going to go from being hard and solid, to liquid like water!"

We sat for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, Memaw called to say hi to Jack Jack. "WE DOIN' A SPEARMINT!" Daddy walked in about 10 minutes later and he yelled and jumped the same thing: "WE DOIN' A SPEARMINT! WE GONNA DRINK IT WHEN WE DONE!"

But the problem: the glass that I picked out of the cabinet was one that had not been used since we've moved in this house, and it had a silverfish in it. I know--yuck! So we just took pictures of it and I THINK that he got the concept. We'll see if I find any more melted popsicles around the house. And yes, I moved the box to the TOP shelf of the freezer!

Happy 28 Years!

This week has been a blur--getting over the flu, trying to get my house back in order from having the flu, processing a MILLION senior images, getting last minute books ordered, booking engagements/bridals/weddings....hectic, I swear! And you throw that HORRIBLE Bachelor ending in there, and Mommy's a little cranky!

So lots has gone on over the past week, but I've been lazy with my camera, because God forbid I have to process ONE MORE FREAKING PICTURE--and that's all these are, pictures. They are nothing fancy. I didn't even check my settings on my camera for any of these. Bad Mommy!

Saturday was my Mom and Dad's 28th wedding anniversary. We all went to Mario's for a relaxing dinner, and my mom gave my dad and fabulous new tungsten ring! He's had his gold band for 28 years. Never lost it once. Wore it everyday. But, when Mom got her upgrade to white gold, Dad wanted one to match. It's a dark silver, and very elegant! He was SOOOO HAPPY!

Jackson with Pawpaw's old ring...
Then they brought us the most fabulous Italian Creme cake I've ever tasted! It was so good!

Jackson and Pawpaw sat watching the men make pizzas and throwing the dough in the air! Jack was fascinated!

Happy Anniversary! To 28 more years!!
